4 Victims Shot at Howe Park Sacramento — Unauthorized Event Ends in Shooting





On Saturday evening, an unapproved gathering of a large crowd at the Howe Park area in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento ended in a shooting when 20 to 25 rounds filled the air as law enforcement officers were working to clearing the area.

How Events Unfolded

Just after 6:30 PM, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office received calls involving individuals who may have been carrying concealed weapons at Howe Park. A second caller indicated a potential fight and individuals running from the park.

A sheriff's helicopter was called in and surveyed the area from above but did not locate the reported fight.

Despite this, multiple hundreds of people had gathered at the park for what law enforcement classified as an unapproved assembly. Responding deputies formed a perimeter around the park, illuminated the area with emergency lights, and gave the crowd approximately 15 minutes announcing over loudspeakers for people to leave via loudspeaker announcements.

While law enforcement cleared the gathering, an estimated 20 to 25 rounds were fired — sending hundreds of people running in a panic.

Shooting Victims

Four people — one female and three males, all believed to be read more in their 20s — were taken to nearby hospitals. Two sustained immediate injuries, one was classified with moderate injuries, and one with minor injuries. Each read more of the four victims was in stable condition. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to the scene and triaged victims at the incident scene.

The Investigation Scene

The shooting took place along the Cottage Way side of the park alongside the Home Depot at the 2200 block of Howe Avenue in Sacramento. click here The nearby Home Depot was briefly placed on lockdown. Additional spent casings were discovered on Cottage Way, with rounds lodged found in the iron fence adjacent to the Home Depot store — indicating a shooter who fired southward from the Cottage Way area toward the Home Depot parking lot. Detectives and CSI personnel processed evidence at the scene through the night.

What We Know About website Suspects

Over scanner traffic, it was confirmed that a vehicle connected to the shooting — a Kia — was pulled over in the Solano County area with four occupants detained. Law enforcement units were en route to collect the suspects and return them to Sacramento County for questioning. Video analysis confirmed two separate shooters.
